Afternoon All.
Blimey! first one for the post!

Been into town on the bus, refused many a carrier bag, used my local fruit and veg stall and got some bargains!

Since starting to use the stall I've been amazed how much I can save.
Today, for example:
1/2lb washed new potatoes
3 HUGE carrots
1lb Cherry Tomatoes
2 Little Gem Lettuge (Plastic wrapped unfortunately)
and a 7 banana bunch.
= £2.80.:T

It would be way more than that at Tesco's or even Morrisons. Plus, my fruit and veg now has flavour. Not used to that!

Unfortunately I then spoilt it by getting a taxi home. Half hour wait for the bus, absolute pouring rain. Sorry, but it was a no brainer for me today.:o

Hugs,

Metherer

the ULTIMATE green day experience for me, been on a course to learn how to become a compost adviser, got a free compost bin. Had a lovely day and met lots of like minded people.

took packed lunch, in a container, no cling film, of tuna salad and fruit.

am off out tonight with my RTDH (recycled teenager dear husband)

Sounds interesting. How did you get involved with that? Is it a regional initiative?

re compost adviser, I head about it on our local radio in Kent during the Compost awareness week, and then found out they were run by BTCV. It was about composting and on how to go into schools, places like WI's and also man the stalls at the likes of county shows and gardening shows.

Certainly have a bit more knowledge, but there are loads more experienced than me!

very interesting to go on, and met like minded people

I think it was a local initiative started between the Kent county council and BTCV to address the landfill problem, apparently there are about 170 in Kent now.
