didnt realise there was a few 60 day trials:-
Norton™ Internet Security 2010
Download free protection that never stops working
It's annoying to be interrupted when you're in the middle of finishing an important project (or just about to get to the next level in your latest online game). Now you can work, surf and play in peace - while staying protected - with Norton™ Internet Security. It runs quietly in the background, with a "Silent Mode" option that means your games and movies are never interrupted by alerts and security updates. Throw in free technical support* and you can always go online with confidence.Norton™ AntiVirus 2010
Download free antivirus protection, light on system resources
Consider it an invisible security cloak - you may not even know it's there, but it helps protect you against threats no matter where your online travels take you. Norton™ AntiVirus 2010 works quickly and quietly in the background without slowing your system, protecting your PC against many Internet threats. It automatically blocks harmful software from invading your system, and scans and cleans your email, instant messaging attachments and Internet downloads for comprehensive antivirus protection.PLAY GOOD!

Free trial of Norton is still overpriced. I wouldn't allow this anywhere near my machines. When my son got the Netsky virus this completely failed to pick it up, and I had to fix his friend's machine which was riddled with trojans and viruses, despite having Norton on it.
I use AVG free, AdAware, CCleaner and MalWarebytes, all of which are free, and haven't had problems for years (touch wood). You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.0 -
Norton is very system intensive - takes up a lot of resources. Nothing wrong with it really though. But it did let through a virus onto my PC which Avast (I always use that now) picked up.
I haven't paid for AV software for years now, and I'm usually ok.The atmosphere is currently filled with hypocrisy so thick that it could be sliced, wrapped, and sold in supermarkets for a decent price and labeled, 'Wholegrain Left-Wing, Middle-Class, Politically-Correct Organic Hypocrisy'.0 -
My computer is protected by Norton, which is coming up for renewal. Renewal is more expensive than buying it again. It's £42.73 to buy a new one and £55 to renew the one I have. Any advice from Moneysavers, please?0

Please dont waste your money on that bag of poop!
Download AVG 9.0 Free http://free.avg.com/ww-en/download
Download and run the uninstall tool relevant to your Norton version from this http://service1.symantec.com/Support/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2005033108162039.
Less resources used on your machine and tracks threats far more efficiently.0 -
I use Avast - downloaded for free - and have done for well over a year now. No noticeable impact on performance unlike others that I've paid for.0
