MONEY MORAL DILEMMA. Should Tyrone & Molly serve picky guests out-of-date food?

No, I don't think they should serve out of date food to guests, especially if they have previously expressed their views against eating out of date food. Although I would quite happily eat certain food past its use by date, you could easily get into a legal situation if they got food poisoning. And the consequences/penalties would surely be greatly exacerbated by you knowing their views but wilfully overiding them. Don't go there!0

There is something extremely wrong about imposing your opinions or beliefs on others, particularly if it is without their knowledge nevermind consent!
It's a matter of principle, scale is irrelevant. You may consider it nothing or trivial but it may not be to the other person, and there may be considerations that you are unaware of (in this example Sally may be pregnant).0 -
Two years out of date would mean the freezer hasn't been defrosted for maybe 3 or 4 years.
I think Molly answering the door looking hot and bothered and clutching an ice axe would be a bit disconcerting.

Of course Molly will serve the pies, she wants to bump Sally off, so she can have Kevin all to herself and Tyrone wants to bump Kevin off because he has been knocking Molly off behind his back!! Simples!! LOL0

I was going to say two years is way too out of date to eat.... until I remembered that today I've just used up some vanilla sugar that said 2007 on the packetNothing tastes as good as riding a horse feels0

My friend lives on his own and doesn't really cook and doesn't socialise. I visited him a few weeks ago, I take sugar, he doesn't. When I was putting sugar into my coffee the bag looked a bit yellow. This weighed on my mind whilst I was drinking the coffee (although to be honest, it tasted fine). I plucked up the courage to ask why the bag was so yellow. It was the sugar he bought for me when he moved into the house 18 years ago. We're still friends, however, I will be bringing my own sugar on my next visit!!!
:rotfl:
Beats my 2 year our of date stuff by a mile!
Good job sugar is a preservative.Nothing tastes as good as riding a horse feels0 -

ooh too easy. I think Sally gave Molly the pie all those years ago knowing that she'd eventually dish it up. The pie is too big for two people and Kevin and Tyrone will obviously have second helpings.0 -
If you know for sure that your friends dont eat out of date food then you should respect their wishes and definately not serve them the out of date frozen pies. Its one thing to choose to eat them yourself but it shouldnt be given to others when you know they wouldnt like it.
I have to agree with the other posts though......why on earth would you serve frozen pies at a dinner party? Its a pretty poor effort all round really. If funds are tight there are loads of other options for a cheap meal....a packet of pasta and some basic sauce would be better than an out of date frozen pie :-)
Why on earth have you read the original post and thought it was a dinner party?Boris Johnson voted against Brexit in the Commons, all to become leader of the Conservative Party. Fall for it and you deserve everything you get.0 -
molly can safely and legally serve her peas as they have a BEST before date,if they had a USE before date then it is not safe.so go ahead molly and give sally as many of those peas as you want, but you won't make her sick0

oops !! silly me read it wrong thought it said peas !!! still the same message, though after 2 years maybe they will make sally sick if not ill0
