Scared by Credit Check on Rented Property

Okay, i'm soon to be put under the microscope by 'Letsure' who do their credit checking with CallCredit. I'm petrified I'll fail. I have had past problems. Not to the point of CCJ's or Bankcrupty but I wasn't the most stable of financial states last year. But i'm back on track, and paying off what I owe, and should be DF in about 15 months.
I'm just scared that i'll be refused and it will fook up things for me and my girlfriend.
Anyone had any experience with LEtsure and CallCredit? All my previous lenders haven't used them (so I don't know if they report my badness to them too).
I feel sick and i'm worried.
Help

why dont you get your credit records from the CRAs and see what they say.....they only cost £2 each or you can take advantage of the free one month trial offers.0

My friend and I have a joint tenancy and were checked out by LETsure. Whilst I have a lot of debt I was managing to pay the minimum payments required on time. My friend had simply stopped paying several debts and was getting letters and phonecalls all the time. It hadn't got to the CCJ stage but his debts had been passed to Debt Recovery agents.
We still passed the credit check OK though.0 -
In the past Ive bounced my accounts almost daily, was horrendously over my overdraft and all the usual not paying CCs on time. Ive passed those credit checks while in the midst of that type of behaviour:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
You can order a callcredit report online i believe.
https://www.mycallcredit.com it's £8.95 which is expensive but i guess if you see it before it may put your mind at rest.
TBH i think the letting agents will only worry if you have got CCJ's, if you have credit like most peeps you should be OK.
CC debt at 8/7/13 - £12,186.17
Barclaycard £11,027.58
Halifax £1,158.59

Property rental companies are not doing a credit check looking for the same things as say a bank. They are concerned about your identity in the first instance and are more interested in checking all your previous addresses are on the electoral role. In the second instance they are concerned about ability to pay but they know rent is a priority so you have to be pretty bad to fail that part. They are also concerned with protecting the address so if you have lots of previous addresses with a long list of debts at each you might get turned down. If you just have a few defaults scattered about that is generally not an issue.
I passed these checks several times whilst bankrupt and once whilst in debt. The first one I ever passed was when I needed somewhere to live as my house was being repossessed.
