in Loans
I recently took out a further non secured personal loan to help me with a family crisis including a death and help with funeral. I am not in a position to pay the £66 per week they are asking for. So today I have set up a debt management scheme who advised me to inform my creditors of the situation. I have done this and recieved threatening emails from a representative threatening to "do me for FRAUD" I am so scared and confused. I didnt plan to be in this sistuation I feel so alone. I really cannot afford to pay them as I only have a surplus of £30 per month so my family are suffering as a result of this. I either pay them or feed my children I cant do both. Can you please tell me whether they can take me on a fraud charge and whether I can actually continue with the debt management plan I intend to sign in a few days. Please please help me.

Who is the debt management plan with? If it's someone who's charging you then ditch them and go with one of the free companies/charities (CCCS/Payplan/CAB/Christians Against Poverty).
Secondly, why are they saying it's fraud? Did you lie on your application, or is it purely because it was taken out so recently? If it's the latter, then the charities ask that you wait until it's 3 months old before starting a DMP.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -
Its with CCCS and yes I believe it was because it was so recent, but it was an extension of an existing loan I have had for 3 years. As CCCS are willing to take on the DMP and sending me the relevant paperwork out as soon as they can. Is there anything I can do in the meantime if it is not possible to do anything for 3 months. I'm at the point where I just want to disappear. Because the loan is collected from home I feel so trapped.0

If CCCS know about it then I wouldn't worry, it's probably just the company trying to panic you into giving them preferential treatment, they know they're running out of time so they're putting the frighteners on. In fact, I'd speak to CCCS and ask them if you should report the company for harrassment and bullying. If CCCS have already said the DMP's ready to go then that's that, they can't be worried about any fraud issues.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0

Just read the bit about being collected from home, is it a Provident loan or similar? Apparantly they settle down quite easily, they want some money coming in and as long as that's happening they're ok.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0
