... there is an answer to this one but will give it a shot.
Have just made some Banana Muffins, the mixture when ready for decanting into cases is gloopy, I have yet to find a technique that does not involve a fair amount of drippage if you see what I mean, has anybody cracked this type of problem.
I am trying very, very hard not to go and eat my fourth one.:o

an ice cream scoop will give you minimal mess and ensure that all muffins are equal sizes!0

I use silicone cases, which may be easier to work with, but I hold the case in my hand over the bowl of mixture, and spoon it in. Or use a jug instead of a bowl.
I made banana cake last night. yum yum. luckily (or maybe unluckily) I get awful heartburn after 2 slices, so I have to stop eating then. They freeze well though.0 -

This is what I do too0 -
I get drips every time I make muffins whether I use a scoop or a spoon. I just clean it up with my finger -cook's perk;)0

I use a big plastic jug to do the "combine the wet and dry" bit and use that to fill the muffin cases"Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass...it's about learning how to dance in the rain." ~ Vivian Greene0

Sorry, I wandered off, as you do.
Thanks for all your replies, I had a silicone muffin thingy about 10 years ago and didn't like it to be honest and went back to an old fashioned non stick metal one, which is very good even if I do say so my self. I appreciate that things may have improved in the silicone world since then.
I've tried using a big ladle, that was messy. I've tried decanting into a small glass jug, that was messy.
I think I may be my own worst enemy though because the bowl I like to use when I'm using my hand mixer is huge and although plastic and light is not easy to hold and cuddle if you see what I mean.
I like the idea of using a large jug to combine the wet and dry, so thanks for that.
As it happens I've got £16 of Tesco vouchers to use and may just splash out on one of these.

If you already have scales, tesco do plastic measuring jugs for 50p!A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

Unfortunately I don't have a car to get to out local Tesco and couldn't find one in their online shop. I do have a very basic set of scales and to be honest the pan is a bit small if you want to weigh more than 8oz of flour and easy to knock off.Woofles you need to get out of that house.
