If you opt for a meter, get a hippo for the loo, it saves water and money each time you flush, some water companies give you one for free.

Can I ask, how much is your organic veg box?

    Hi Washer,

My loo was fitted after 2001 and so is the industry standard of 6 litres, so a hippo will not make any difference - but like the idea!

My organic box is £15.95 which is for 2 or 3 - but I add items to this other veg, dairy, meat, cleaning products etc.

Is it worth having the car? I don't know too much about them but I think it's pretty heavily taxed, so you might be better off without it.

Why is your husband's income so unreliable? Could he change jobs/get a second job or something? Or is he a stay at home dad?
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

    Hi Ames,

It definately worth having the car - buses around here cost a fortune!
My husband has tried, without sucess to find another job (he is commercial mechanic). He even took a day course (at my cost - for the course and reducing hours from 5 days a week to 4) to study mechanical engineering, but the college pulled the course. So now he has stopped.

    Hi

Given that you are paying the whole household expenditure and you OH has to pay 15%? of his income as maintenance, what income is he bringing in and where is that going?

OK, if you can live of your income and use his less stable income to reduce your debt when he has it, but he must be contributing something to the household?

    Hello inthered,

If this is really your light bulb moment it has come on just in time.
You can get this sorted but it takes a lot of hard work and hard choices.

In your present state you should not be ADDING to your outgoings by getting life insurance. Don't you have life insurance to cover your mortgage?

NatWest Private banking - In your condition you do not need this, never needed it.
It should be a simple matter to cancel and change the C/C to a normal NatWest C/C.
If you did not phone "your named relationship manager" today call him/her tomorrow and change it. £19.99 for a bank account is!!!!!!!!!!!

Start a spending diary TODAY to find out exactly where your money goes. That knowledge will shock you but also give you power. You only need a pen and a paper.

    Good Luck

    Thanks Gfplux,
I am phoning to cancel today. Read my terms and conditions last night, and will convert the CC as you rightly state into a regular Natwest C/C.
I do not have life insurance to cover the mortgage, this is what I am shopping around for at the moment.

    Good Morning!
I checked my Broadband and home telephone line last night, and its actually £25 each month, last month was just a little higher as I had to call Germany (my sister) a number of times due to a family situation.

Do you think it's worth re-doing my SOA, as so many things need changing?

  • I would post up an updated SOA - jsut to see where you stand. I would also include your husband in it, with a nominal average figure of what he brings in.

If you have a garden could you not grow your own veg and fruit rather than getting an organic box - it would work out cheaoer and probably much tastier if the treats in my Gran's garden are anything to go by!
