Returning to MSE with tail between my legs...

Hello everyone!
I was very dedicated to MSE a few months ago by slowly stopped coming to visit - sorry!
Lots has changed, firstly I've since found myself without a job anymore (long and complicated and potentialy going to tribunal ) but secondly and far more importantly I got married :j and sadly the former happened 2 weeks after coming back from honeymoon.
Now my DH and I will be down by £1200 a month (minimum before I got bonuses) and whilst we can still pay the mortgage, bills, food etc... with his salary, losing mine is certainly going to make a big difference so I am really looking to all you lovely MSE'rs for advice and inspiration.
Now like a good girl I had a slow cooker on my wedding list :A (only put on there after seeing how much everyone on here idolises theirs!) so plan to utilise that, I reckon I can do a food shop for £30 a week for the 2 of us but want to make it more interesting and tasty, though as I follow slimming world diet I am limited when it comes to adding butter/fats etc... as well as packet and ready made sauces. But its not like I don't have time on my hands to make from scratch!
We are also paying off a loan which costs us £500 p/m and my credit card costing £55 p/m (more then min payment), which again we can do with DH salary, but I really want to make every penny count as we used to save loads so we could pay loan off early but loads of the savings went on wedding and gorgeous honeymoon. It all a bit crap at the mo and I know how lovely you all are and hopefully you won't tell me off for my extended absence away from you all!
LG xx

Welcome back, sorry about the job and congrats on the wedding. I am sure you will get lots of support and tips from the "old stylers". Just think you have allready started to save, no travel expences, no Starbucks lattaes, no Marksies sarnies. Keep it up girl, sometimes its just lovely being at home. The time will come when you have everything but time.0

Welcome back! Maybe look at this as an opportunity for new direction in your life? Is there something you have been wanting to do, but felt you couldnt give up your job to do it? Studying? Different career path? In meantime, I would look at the up my income section - lots of stuff you can do from home and maybe mystery shopping may be an option too.
And just think - once you get used to living on one income, when you get your wonderful, exciting new jobyou know that you could use every penny to pay off your debt. Have you checked that you are on the best deal for your loan? Could it be moved to a 0% card, or overdraft, if not already?
I cant help with recipies - theres so much on here already!0 -
Welcome back! What Would Bill Buchanan Do?0

I tend to load up when a good sale comes along..be it with buy one get 1 free or half price. be it with meat, cheese, cleaning products etc. It'll be less items you have to be in the coming weeks which means more money for other things such as maybe you and the hubby can rent some dvd's and have a movie night (or go ot the cinema)
Welcome back and congrats on the wedding. My hubby and I will celebrate our 10 year wedding annv. next year..man where did the time go? lol.*If you like the advice I give...let me know by clicking the THANKS button*

Loving the idea of being able to use anything I earn for paying off!
Luckily my CC is on 0% for another 9 months so should be a good chunk down. Not planning on being out of work for that long though!
Will def think about how I can use the opportunity to do something I really want to. Would love to be one of those people who love their jobs!
The lovely flyladies have kept me busy today and I have my slimming world weigh in tonight. Keep your fingers crossed for at least 1lb loss so I can get my 1/2 stone award in 4 weeks :j

Welcome back Louboutin. There is a season for going and a season for coming back ...
I'd say plan your meals, have no spend days, use the library, swap clothes with friends, go round to your relatives for meals if they don't mind and have one evening a week for a romantic candlelit meal at home together0 -
Hows it going Lou?0
