Loan charge

Hi

I have a loan with MBNA and repayments are by direct debit. I missed 1 loan payment in Jan 07. I didn't realise as i had moved and not updated my address. ALl future payments went out fine but this one has been sitting on the account as arrears, which i have only recently discovered, and paid them off straight away. I received a loan statement and it shows that i have been charged £35 every month as a charge for this late payment! SUrely i should only have been charged once. Is this fair, can i reclaim? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The loan is due to end sept 2010.

many thanks.

I would write to complain - particularly if they have not been advising you each month of the loan charge or how to clear your arrears.
