I've just discovered too that PVR recorders are better than DVD recorders apparently. You might want to research this though.

Play have the LG DRT389H for £58.99 + free delivery if you don’t mind a refurbished one.

MyFaveShop Marketplace (also known as Edirectory) are selling these for £82.98 including delivery. Although it says records from audio CD onto USB storage devices I don't think the Lidl DVD player is a DVD recorder.
