Wasn't it the Dartford Crossing that was supposed to be "Given back" to the people around 6 years ago when it was fully paid for????...

It causes endless traffic jams, air pollution and is wasteful on fuel.
All to collect another tax...where are the green credentials?0 -
had the tories not given so much away while in office to their mates in the square mile gordon now would have some decent utilities to sell off,bt b gas etc etc which would rake in billions£ and slove most of our woes,as it is theres very little of value for the winter fire sale now0

To put this into context: public sector net borrowing for August 2009 was £16.1bn."The state is the great fiction by which everybody seeks to live at the expense of everybody else." -- Frederic Bastiat, 1848.0

Nothing new - Gordon's been trying to shift it since 2006, and it was in the manifesto to do it in 2001!0 -

Does selling off the student loan book scupper the tory plan to give a 10% discount to graduates paying back their loans early?
Student Loans company would still have to administer the scheme due to the HMRC link up with PAYE.
Tories could still do this but they would have to pay the people who owned the loan book so not likely. Way to go Gordon good way to stop another Tory good idea! Plonker!0 -
Makes sense to be honest, this stuff is all tat, I didn't even know the Dartford Crossing and the Tote where state owned.0
