Childrens radio

I remember reading somewhere that there are radio programmes specifically for children and I mentioned it to my daughter but now I can't find anything on't internet about childrens radio

My daughter is almost 7 and keeps asking me if I can find out for her.

Does anyone know a national radio station that broadcasts childrens radio? (She doesn't have digital radio)

Many Thank yous in advance to the person who can put an end to my misery

    Jay-Jay,

Can you get BBC 7 where you are? Or would that be a little bit old for her.

She could listen online or through cable or satellite TV to the Big Toe Radio Show on BBC7. It is aimed at 7 to 12 year olds and is presented by familiar presenters from TV like Kirsten O'Brien or Dani Harmer (Tracy Beaker). It has a mix of chat, guests, music, stories and competitions. It is on from 4 to 6 every day and my kids love it. There is also a version for younger children called Little Toe.

Thanks for that! We love radio but it never even occured to me that there would be a kids show. And there is a show with Kevin Duala from Blues Clues. My little un will be well pleased. Thanks again.

Not much use for the op,but I pressed the wrong button when I wanted arrow rock and found Fun radio on sky 162. Aimed at youngsters - singalong with Barney in the mornings, naptime at 1pm.etc.

Aw thanks for replying  :T

She has had a CD player in her bedroom since she was a tot and listens to CD's all the time when she's in her room. At Christmas she was given a really nice little midi systeme for her room with CD, tape and radio and it's this that she wants to listen to the radio on. So the digital channels and sky etc aren't suitable

She wanted to listen to 'normal' radio last night and is happy to have a grown up station on but I don't want her hearing anything sordid or riske IYKWIM.

Ah well...... never mind. She's got a bigger tape and CD collection than HMV  so she's not short of something to listen to.

    Thanks x x x
