When you install it it asks if you want to; I think it says you can change your preferences or something.
Me, I have my iTunes in a different folder, which coincidentally stops the OVI player finding it.
I think it likes to find at least one song under your "Music" folder though.

I've had an account deleted by Nokia for having more than one accessed from the same IP address. I'd only set up a second one after being triple charged for an album.
  • Yeah hstudent, Nokia Music have charged me double and triple for albums. And when you contact support to try and get the money back into your account all they do is ask you for lots and lots of irrelevent information and DO NOT reimburse you. Surely this is STEALING

The trick is to only put in enough credit for 1 album, download that, then another, etc.
I think the problem is that it gets confused when there are lots of tracks on the album and it mistakenly tries to charge per track.

Essentially the Ovi player is stuffed, and you have to uninstall it.
There is a procedure to remove the OVI player that I got off the interweb somewhere (I think it came from the Nokia support forums); it involves a registry edit and manually deleting a couple of hidden directories too.
    I've done it several times.
Essentially, Ovi is a rubbish piece of software that is only worth using for the free music.
  • Thanks for your help went to the forum and deleted some hidden files and:j it's now working again.

I new peeps on here would be more help than Nokia.

They have not even replied to my e-mail about taking double money for one album.

I agree would not use them if it was not free.
