Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
Just started doing this this morning, thanks to everyone who has posted codes.

One thing I have noticed though, I think the confusion regarding double charging might be because while the value of the codes is £4, in "my account" is says 5 free tracks and the value £0. If you buy an album costing 3.99 but with 10 tracks I can see why you'd need to use 2 codes.

    It's only a game

I only got 7 working codes out of the 14 I tried.

Still getting charged double but I found a way around it! Just load the two codes and when you get the message you have run out of credit/please top your account. Sign out and sign back in and it just carries on!

    Thanks for that vital tip.

I was downloading the Ultimate Cream (55 track triple CD) for £20, and after 5 songs it stopped and said I had run out of credit.

I logged out then back in and it is now finishing the download.

This implies there is a "loose connection" (in software terms they are not tightly coupled), between the Download Manager software and the OVI store software, and one is not getting correct information from the other as to how many tracks are allowed to be downloaded before stopping.

Each track normally costs £0.79, so 5 tracks is £3.95. So the easist way for them to run this is to just give a £4 credit.

The double charging happens randomly, regardless of price - I even had it downloading a single !! Also on £11.99 and £24.99 albums.

thanks for this one - i have a nokia music phone but had never bothered with the ovi site / music store till now - got a lot of free tracks and an album on my phone now! however, Ovi went a bit mad on my computer and imported all my music, changing it all the nokie format from itunes, even though i had specified not to, which was annoying, but fixable. overall, brilliant freebie though!

I changed the default music program back to iTunes (if you click on a track in your music folder, and choose open with iTunes, iTunes will realise that it's not your default anymore and ask if you want to change it) The files are still MP3 so still work fine in iTunes.

    Hope that helps

Glad i didnt buy the albums ild be well annoyed
  • Nokia provide the most frustrating and complicated download process I have ever come across. Okay it's a good freebie, but it is bloody hard work. I'm glad I'm not a paying customer.
