Yah, the DVD player does do MPEG4... Progressive scan too.
Can't tell you much more since as soon as I discovered the coflict with my TV, it was straight back in the box.

You get a scart lead and composite leads in the box..

To be honest i wouldnt rate the medion sat navs at all, very clumsy and very slow to use.
I have sold and used many sat navs on the market and theres one make that beats them all hands down "garmin"

i have deal with garmin for many years new and have done the whole range from the original streetpilot right upto the new nuvi range, and out off all the years we have been selling garmin i would say i have had about 3 faulty units..!!
where as tom tom the returns rate is approx 75% if not more.
so regardless of what anyone says stick with garmin, navigation is what they speialis in and nothing else
If all the us armys use em and any plane you have travelled on use garmin, need i say more.

The Tecknika 2005 DVD recorder from Tesco at £69ish is a better buy as its s/w is upgradable, and multiregion etc etc and its a usb as well.

anyone got the medion sat nav, whats it like to use

We find it perfectly fine to use - it guided us all over France at Easter with no problems. You can't operate them when you're driving (unless you're suicidal) so a couple of minutes before you set off is all it takes. You save regular destinations so they're even quicker.
Buy one from Aldi and try it - they take things back with a receipt no questions asked. Also you get a 3 year guarantee.

Was given a Medion 40600 PPC with sat-nav last year and it's pants!!!

The connector is very poor design and only makes intermittent contact which means it keeps losing the GPS.

Also the interface is not very intuitive and doesn't accept post codes.

The 'main roads' of Europe are a waste of space. Tell you no more than the motorway signs do.

Other than that, it plays Solitaire fine!

We have a PNA100 and a PPC250, the older PNA100 is the one used all the time. The only time we loose the signal is when we're in a tunnel - lots of them near the Alps!
Our maps are now a year old so some new junctions aren't on it. We have maps for UK,Finland,Norway,Sweden,Denmark,Netherlands,Belgium,Luxembourg,Germany,Austria,Switzerland,France,Italy,Spain,Portugal.
We've only tried rural France and Spain and it was brilliant.

Anyone else got the dvd writer? I agree the 3 year guarantee is worth a lot.
Just got mine, not yet played with it properly.
