Hi I purchased the Red magazine due to the molton brown voucher within. I was recommended this from yourselves and followed the links for the nearest store which was either fenwicks Newcastle or House of Fraser Metrocentre. NOTHING was mentioned about the voucher only being accepted at the molton brown shops not concessions within dept stores until I went instore and the girl wouldn't accept it and now on this thread. I've wasted £3.50 on a mag I wouldn't normally use for to be embarrased in store which I'm going to complain about to the red mag/house of fraser and molton brown. I've been totally mislead by yourselves as it was not made clear straight away it was just the main molton brown shops not dept stores. Others are in the same boat too as the assistant said other customers had been in and the nearest main boutique is York. I'm not spending £20 on a rail fare for that either. I am so annoyed at being so mislead!
If you had read the whole thread you would have seen I mentioned in 2 places that you can't use it in concessions in larger shops. It is also mentioned on the coupon page in the mag

I went into the Bath store on Saturday and bought a hand wash using a coupon. The lady in front bought one item without a coupon and was given a free sample of shower gel - she declined the offer of a bag. I was offered a bag and accepted (because I actually needed one) and wasn't given any shower gel. Maybe the assistant (I use the term loosely) is going to use it to clean the dirty look off her face!:rotfl:

I don't know why they are so snotty - if the company was doing that well they surely wouldn't need to boost sales by paying to have a coupon put in a magazine.

I bought three magazines to get three offers. The first 2 were used in the cribbs store, one by me and one by my husband on different days. On both times in the Cribbs store the assistants were so helpful, asked if it was a gift and when I said yes they wrapped it an put it in a bag and then they gave me (and my husband when he was in) a free mini shower gel for me to use, such lovely staff. I then used my last voucher in the Bath store, complete opposite, the staff were snotty, I had to ask for a bag and no free mini in there.
  • Hi I did read some of your responses saying that blame someone else for your own mistakes. No I didn't. I was not made aware of it. I followed the links which showed me the local stores were fenwicks or house of fraser. Nothing was mentioned to me about it. The assistant said other customers had been in too so it's not just me as so many would have me belive. There is no molton brown boutique in Newcastle just York. It should have been a nation wide thing where dept stores did accept them. I don't have one on my doorstep. I didn't know I'm only human if I make mistakes that's my fault but being mislead is another matter. Thanks for wasting my money and embarrasing me plus calling me on line thankvery much !!!

After reading this thread I too went out and bought a copy of Red magazine specifically to get the £10 Molton Brown voucher.

I read that it couldn't be used in outlets or concessions as it was clearly posted by the OP. There's no store near me but I planned to visit Nottingham or send the voucher to someone in Nottingham to go to the store for me. I've just read that the voucher expires on Tuesday, I won't be going to Nottingham before then and it's too late to get someone in Nottingham to go shopping for me.

My voucher is now wasted - but who do I blame? There's only one person at fault and that's me, all of the info about where and when the voucher could be used is on this thread and in the magazine itself.

I won't be getting anything from Molton Brown but DD1 has had a read of the magazine, DD2 has had a read of the magazine and now they've finally given it back to me I'll be able to have a little read.
  • Hi, I have a voucher and am getting a friend to get stuff for me. I cannot get onto the website to choose what he should get me. Any suggestions for website help or which product?
  • Karen you certainly have the right attitude to things!

The moral of the story seems to be what I used to get told over and over again at school MANY years ago- read it,read it and read it again!!

Monkeygirl, the handwashes are really nice and cost only £4 with the vouchers and make great xmas gifts too, and they are long lasting!;)
  • BTW the Naraji hand wash is quite a nice fragrance and I would say is their best seller. I've bought a hand cream to match it for a gift for someone.

Thank you for that - its nice to see someone who appreciates what the OP stated! As for getting the mags back - I have that problem and I have 3 boys in my house :rotfl:

I'm quite shocked at your rudeness to be honest. YOU didn't read the thread properly and YOU didn't read the voucher page properly. No one held a gun to your head to make you buy the magazine - we certainly didn't waste your money for you - you did that and should take responsibility for it rather than blaming others.

The kindness of those on these forums never ceases to astound me and I'm very proud to be an MSEr. People are taking their time to alert others of fab bargains and freebies. You lost out on this one. Get over it, have a read of the mag and a cuppa and chill out.

In the November issue of Red, there is a £10 voucher for Molton Brown which can be used at any of their stores, but not department stores, outlets or spas. There is no minimum spend but must be used on full price items.

Shelbyc, please take the time to re-read the OP (by westywoo). I don't see how this could have been written any clearer. The post hasn't even been edited at any point.

    You said:

"NOTHING was mentioned about the voucher only being accepted at the molton brown shops not concessions within dept stores..."

Yet, the OP quite clearly stipulated the following:

"£10 voucher for Molton Brown which can be used at any of their stores, but not department stores, outlets or spas."

For ease of reading and to enhance clarification, I've highlighted the relevant points.

Are you sure that you did not mis-read the original post, rather than thinking that you were mis-led?

The evidence suggests the contrary to your claims.
