Hi
i wondered if you kind people could take alook out for my cat which has been missing in the newry area since 4th may, he is a big fluffy (and I mean FLUFFY) black cat with a white chest & feet, he is so freindly and my kids pet, a lady said he was seen on the mall in newry a couple of days after he was missing but no other sightings, he has been neutered so never ever strayed before, please please find him and i will give a £20 reward for his safe return.

Aw Dumbo, I'm sorry to hear about your kitty. Have you tried asking the Democrat or the Reporter to carry an article and photo about his disappearance - not just a little ad in the "lost property" sections.
I expect you've been around the various vets as well - there's at least one of them which sometimes acts as a half way house in the hope an owner shows up.
PM me if you wish - I'm near Newry and am a cat lover so will try to help if I can.

Thanks for your reply,
i didnt think that the paper would run this other than an ad in the lost section as i have done, i must look into this as the kids are really heartbroken, thanks for the advice again, i will let you know how i get on.0 -
Hi Dumbo
The papers generally speaking need stories to fill their pages. You have lots of the ingredients they like - local, human interest, involves children, involves an animal - if you have a nice clear photo then so much the better!
Putting up posters around and about is good advice, and obviously asking the local vets and pet shops to display them.
I'll send you a PM as I have a few other things I can advise but involve phone numbers.

I hope you don't need our help any more and that your cat has turned up safe and sound but just in case you still do, you could try ringing The Irish News (I'll send you the number in a PM) and asking to speak to the features editor.
Ask whether she might run an article with picture on the Pet Sounds page which appears every Monday.
I have my fingers crossed for you.0
