Hi,
This may be a silly question, so please excuse me if it is. I often bake a cake and biscuits at the same time or 2 savoury things but could i bake a cake and a roast at the same time or would the smell from the roast go into the cake? Seriously I have no idea:o

Yes, put as much as you can in the oven at one time to save on electric.
I cook other things like a roast or casserole with a cake or apple crumble. If winter comes, can spring be far behind?

Thanks julie, I always try and use the oven for a few things at once but never was sure if savoury things would affect the smell of the sweet things. Bit silly but i feel reassured now tyvm.Thailand 3010/15000 20150

Do you know what Puss. I am glad you asked as I wondered the very same thing yesterday! I was making biscuits, and needed to roast some chicken bones buthad fear of chickeny flavoured biscuits coming out.:o Thanks for asking that - and don't feel silly! It's only obvious when you know how

How do you work it out if you don't have a fan oven? We've just moved into a house that came with a geriatric non-fan oven, and it's far hotter at the top than at the bottom. I'm afraid of burning things if I put more than one thing in there that need to be cooked at the same temperature.0

Years and years ago I read an article in a magazine, with a list of things you could cook in the oven at the same time. It was very good, all things that wouldn`t transfer their aroma to other theings that were cooking.
Sadly, I can`t remember where I saw it or who wrote it. Sorry can`t be more help. The more I see of men, the more I love dogs - Madame de Sevigne0 -
I cooked a roast and some muffins yesterday at the same time, the only issue being the muffins needed 10 mins longer than usual - but other than that no probs! hoorah!0

I probably wouldn't bake biscuits at the same time as fish pie!!0

I cooked some brownies at the same time as a fish pie the other day and both came out fine!0
