Credit checks affect on remortgage

Due to a total mess up by T mobile who have credit checked me 16 times in four days I now have a bad credit reference.
How will this affect my chance of remortgaging when it comes due in January having so many credit checks on file?? All because someone there was not doing their job properly.

Write a notice of correction to the credit agencies, and get them removed if possibleI am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. we are having the same sort of problem with sainsburys credit card. we closed an account with them but then they put a transaction on with out telling us for 2 months we have since had the transaction taken off & repaid but it's showing as unpaid on our credit score & has so far stopped us remortgaging with 2 companies. but because we didn't know why they were declinding us we kept trying different banks so once we clear sainsburys off our record i will then look at trying to cclear all the bank tries on our credit record.
i have found creditexpert very helpful & you can apply to see your credit score though them
good luck0 -
I also believe that there is a facility where T-mobile can inform the credit reference agency that the searches were carried out in error and the agency can remove them from your file.
However, I believe that the request has to come from T-mobile and may mean that T-mobile will have to 'explain how it happened' to the agency. I recall this being explained to me when I was once given access to experian by a firm I worked for. They warned us against unneccesary searches and I seem to recall that the company's licence with experian could be affected by things like that. I stand to be corrected though.I am an IFA (and boss o' t'swings idst)You should note that this site doesn't check my status as an IFA, so you need to take my word for it. Have been trying to get someone at T mobile to sort this but untill yesterday no help, I had rung them 5 times with no success. Convieniently getting cut off after explaining the problem on 3 occaisions. Have also e-mailed their customer relations dept. 3 times each time getting the message that someone will contact you within 1 working day, no return contact as yet.
Finally thanks to someone on the mobiles board I tried the number of the cs directors office and managed to speak to someone. She has promised to look into it all and call me on Monday, so here's hoping.0 -
If you have your credit report already, contact the credit reference agency (CRA) and ask them to take this up with the lender for you. Your report should only show one credit application search per application. The lender doesn't need to explain to the CRA why information should be changed or removed - the data belongs to the lender so the CRA will simply make the requested adjustments. In fact, many lenders can make the changes themselves via online systems.
