Hi all,
I am looking to start buying xmas presents now to spread the cost! I am not good at anything to do with kids (!) but am looking to buy presents for 4 different children 2 girls (aged 8 and 12) and 2 boys (7 and 9).
What are this years "must have" toys? Is high school musical still in? or am I way out of it?
Help!!

not sure whats in this year for older children as i have a toddler and its all wabaloo and peppa pig here.
but i have got to buy for a 12 year old neice, i think she will be getting bath smellies and phone credit. She doesn't seem to be in to toys nowadays, needs to be grown up !0 -
I work with 6/7 year olds and with them it's all High School Musical, Hannah Montanna, Ben 10, Spongebob and some cards that they keep bringing in but I've no idea what they're actually of!0

Thanks, had seen peppa pig but had no idea what it was! Will go for things along those lines and hope for the best. As for phone credit I dont know whether her mum would love me or kill me for it!!0

For the older girl she may be more into Twilight. This seems to be this years fad for mine after the last couple of years have been High School Musical. But you cant go wrong with make up, jewllery, smellies or phone credit for that age!Member of Thrifty Gifty ~ Making money for Christmas 2010:£2 Savers club member no 40 ~ £54Amazon Vouchers BingoPort ~ £10Dooyoo Challenge Jan ~ £24.07 / £20.00 Yippee over target :j0

I think all of your age groups would be too old for Peppa. My twins are coming up 4 and I'm not buying them any Peppa stuff for their birthday or Christmas as I'm expecting them to grow out of it soon.0 -

for the twelve year old why not get something like new look vouchers instead of credit for her phone, that way she can spend them in the sale and kids that age just love going into places like new look and being all grown up! do a make up bag and put the voucher in it as a double surprise, skintbint x

i would get a gift card for Claires Accessories - my 8yr old, loves gift cards, as she is free to spend them on what she wants, and feels grown up flashing a 'card' at the tills
