Selling books in bulk

Hi, I want to get rid of a big pile of books prior to moving house and want to get some money for them. I've already used fatbrain.co.uk to sell 5 of them, I wondered if there were similar sites that will buy multiple titles from me? I dont have the energy to list them all seperately on amazon or similar as i am unwell.
Thanks

I'm not sure about shifting books in large amounts but if you dont mind them selling "too" cheaply (thats if they are low value paperbacks) then i would suggest a carboot possibly? The rest could go on amazon/ebay or just give to a charity shop.
By the way, could i just ask you about fatbrain as i have never heard of it. How does it work?MSE allowed me to see the light0 -

Thank you for the fatbrain info and link!!
I have been looking for something like this for ages after I sifted through out massive CD collection and sold it to musicmagpie!
I have been with Greenmetropolis for about 6 months and in that time have only managed to sfift 5 books at £3 each. Thats £15 i agree, however I just want to get rid of the 3 boxes of books sitting in the garage much faster!£2022 in 2022 - £1042/£2022

I've heard of a few places who do the listing on ebay etc for you, for a fee obviously. Maybe you could earch or one in your area?
Also someone elses suggestion or a carboot will prob help - although people at car boots would take everything youre selling for 2p (actually 1p, cos they'd haggle from 2p)But would need to be prepared to sell them very cheaply - probably around 50p-£1 per book.
Alternatively you could just list the whole lot of them on ebay as bulk and either use a corrier to deliver them nationally, or use local pick up only.
I they are academic/text books, it might be worth giving your local uni/college a call and seeing if tutors can let students know your details so that they can get in touch if they are interested.
If you end up being desperate to get rid of them i'd suggest charity - most charities will come and collect if youre not able to deliver them.
Just out of interest, what type of books are they?'It is better to live your own destiny imperfectly than to live an imitation of somebody else's life with perfection' Elizabeth Gilbert.

i have just had a look, and done a price comparison,
one book that fatbrain offered me 90p for was priced at £6 on amazon ( lowest price)
so if up you income is your game then its def not worth selling some books on fatbrain,
i am going to have a look at the 'run of the mill' paperbacks, to see what they offer for them.
i should imagine they are a company a bit like the cd one that are also sellers on all the main sites, amazon etc, and this is a good way of getting bulk books in.
edit..... just entered 3 oldish paperbacks...... they didnt want to buy them, so they are cherry picking the books they buy off you, so if this is the case, if they make you an offer you know that they are worth a heck of alot more on amazon,Work to live= not live to work0 -
thankyou all for your advice. The books are Radiography and medical textbooks mostly.0

I've just tried Fatbrain with 8 books and they rejected all of them (all fiction) even two that came up as being out of stock.
Going by the faq, they're really more for aimed towards text books."And suddenly I find myself listening to a man I've never known before,Telling me about the sea..."0 -
Thanks for the fatbrain link, I've negotiated payment for a pile of books (text books and university texts) which were just cluttering up my house and would have been too expensive to list on greenmetropolis because of their size. At least I'm guarantueed they will all go at once!
I think that greenmetropolis still has to be the way forward for normal sized paperbacks.0 -
I have a load of Usborne children's books that I need to get rid of (preferably by the end of the month when we move house), any ideas where I could sell these? There is 3 boxes of them so I don't really want to have to list them all on Ebay!!!Proud wife to a soldier and mummy to two gorgeous boysDealing with our Debt Barclaycard £2022.98 RBS £1249.86 Next £183.03September Groceries £120/£102.05:( September Packed Lunches 22/6Sealed Pot Challenge #9940
