Tetris and Sonic on your mp3 player?

If you own the excellent Archos gmini400 mp3 player, head over to https://www.gmini400.com where you can download emulators that allow you to play all Nintendo Gameboy, Sega Game Gear and Sega Master System games on your mp3 player. You can also download a version of the game Doom to play on your Archos.

Either click on the link on the left hand side labeled SMS/GG emulator or look in the forum under General. The relevant threads are stickied at the top.

It's all 100 per cent legal as far as I'm aware.

They have pretty good FAQs on how to download and install the emulators if you are having trouble.

Enjoy.

Although the emulators are perfectly legal with homebrew/Public domain games with the type of games some people will use it will be illegal. So it all depends on what games you play.

Don't think because you own the original that backups become legal, there are that many interpretations of the law but on things like XBOX games it states not to make backups of ,etc so its best not to risk crossing the line.

My understanding is that Sega explicitly gave permission for Game Gear and Master System roms to be run legally as they no longer produce, market or distribute those products. The same applies to Mega Drive games.

In fact I'm pretty sure about that.

Not so sure what the situation with Nintendo is though.
