Hi, I want to make cheese and onion herb bread in the bread maker but in the past it has come out soggy. I have picked up a jar of onion granuals and wonder if anyone knows if I can use it with dried basil and some parmesan cheese in the bread maker? If so, about how much of each should I use for a small (500g) loaf?
Thank you. SG

Hello Sunset, it sounds like the recipy I used last week. I sort of do it my way so I used the onion granules, grated chedder cheese and a few herbs. I made a 2lb loaf in the bread maker, then sliced it with the food slicer. My cheese and onion loaf turned out well concidering it was the first time in making it. We toasted some of it. It was all eaten. I always think the breadmaker bread has a diffrent texture to shop bought sliced bread, a bit cake like.More heavy and not so springy. If winter comes, can spring be far behind?

Hello julie_d, well my loaf didn't come out very well at all and the chickens ended up having it. The loaf was a bit heavy with very little flavour. I used 1 tsp basil, 1 tbsp onion granules and 35g of grated parmesan cheese. I thought as it was fresh parmesan it wouldn't be as heavy as cheddar. I will try it again with mixed herbs and more onion granules, it ws the onions I thought would give me problems, but it ended up being the cheese!
Oh well, live and learn, just have to remember to write it all down for next time.0
