Thanks for this post - Ubuntu is a great operating system and I highly recommend it.

BTW version 6.06 is not actually released yet but they are taking orders for CDs now. (You will also be able to download it for free from their website once it's released - probably early June).

There are also free CDs for Ubuntu (the original version with the Gnome desktop environment which I personally prefer) and Edubuntu (a version aimed at schools).

Mine arrived yesterday. It's a fantastic disc!
What's more you can run it as a "live" CD. Boot your PC or Laptop from the CD just to try everything out.
I tried it on a Dell Latitude laptop. Within a couple of minutes wireless networking was working and I was on the Net!
Disk also includes Open Office and a raft of other useful stuff.
