I want to buy a camcorder - pref. Sony

I want to buy a new camcorder. My preference is for a Sony, unless someone can convince me otherwise. I have also considered the JVC one with the built in HDD but am not convinced 100%. Possibly looking for a mini-dv with the ability to have a light attachment on it as well. Any recommendations?
