Comments

Oh and I bought a fair amount of saffron whilst in Dubai on holiday.
Any ideas what to do with it?? Stupidly spent a small fortune on it and don't want it to go to waste..also does anyone else know how long it lasts? (I am storing it in a tupperware pot)
Many thanks0 -
You could make paella

saffron is very sensitive to light
so store away from sunlight/direct light
i know you said its in tupperware
(my dresser has glass doors so i need to keep everything in dark glass)
saffrons flavour intensifys after a while in a dish, so if you are making something for tomorrow think of this
i love it in risotto!0 -
How about Saffron cake go to greenchronicle.com and search for Cowyth wheg or saffron cake (sorry I can't post links yet.)
If you have the first Nigella book try her recipe for Blakean Fish Pie, she puts saffron in the white sauce and it's delicious.0 -
