Can I get a mortgage when in debt?

Hello everyone.
Just one question, can I get a mortgage when in debt and using the consumer credit counselling service.
I have recently split from partner who is staying in our home. I'm now renting but the area I live in is terrible. I want to move closer to friends but the rents for flats start at £400. I can afford £500 per month but would rather use that for a mortgage. I have no savings left apart from a few hundred pounds. So I'm stuck in this run down flat and its starting to affect my health mentally. Any advice would be most welcome.
Thanks.
Michael

Hiya, I work for a well known lender offering 100%plus mortgages based in the Northeast. I assume I can't name names but any broker would know who we are. We could potentially lend to you - it depends on what happened to your credit prior to you getting involved with CCCS. If you'd managed to keep everything more or less up to date and used CCCS because your credit was becoming unmanageable, then since you've got a track record of paying credit and a mortgage theres a good chance we could lend, even to 100%. It all depends on your credit score however, but these two factors will weigh in your favour. We just look at the cccs commitment as being a loan. If you'd started getting missed payments and defaults prior to using CCCS, then its less likely we could help.
Thats just one perspective though - by far the best thing you could do is speak to a broker. Hope it all works out for you.Number 86 - Stole a car from a one legged woman... I'm just trying to be a better person0
