HP all in one printer

Hi everyone
this is my first post hope it is okay. I went into PC World to get one of the Brother all in one printers which is talked about on this site and they had a brochure coming out tomorrow with the HP1510 printer on offer for £59.99
which should be £84.99. have read good reviews on this. I took out the £19.99 three years warranty and the salesman said they replace it with new right away even if there is accidental damage and come out to your house.
Hope this helps
Jennifer

If you want to save on the £59.99 for the HP PSC 1510 at PCWorld

You can get the HP PSC 1410 in-store at COMET for £49.99

Better still you can order it ONLINE for just £39.28
and standard delivery is just £5.95

I am afraid to say that you have also been mis-sold their pc performance package.

    1) Printer is under £100 so qualifies for instant replacement.

    2) Instant replacement items you have to bring to the store to get replaced.

    3) Accidental damage cover is not included on instant replacement items

Used to work there so I know all these things. Take it back and get a refund on the insurance. £20 on a £60 printer is a 1/3 of the price. Waste of money.
We’re here to solve the problem quickly so you don’t have the hassle. With PC Performance you are protected against the following:

    Mechanical breakdown
Breakdown due to mishaps (unless your product qualifies for Instant Replacement)
No charge if no fault is found
    Worldwide protection

You have a stautory right to cancel the extended warranty and obtain a full refund of the preium. i think that you have 28 days to do it, but best do it a.s.a.p. Details will be on the warranty documentation you were given.
  • You have 14 days. Do it now before you forget.

Phone the number on the bottom of the PC Performance document. It clearly states you can call the number and cancel.

Be prepared to be messed around, misinformed and fobbed off. They will ask you why, as if it matters. Have your statement ready and don't be swayed. (i.e. i felt pressurised into buying it, id dindnt want it, i am within my rights to cancel and i want to exercise that right to cancel). Stand your ground

Stick the money in the bank for your next one.

Bear in mind the unit might have been "cheap" but you are going to by comparison pay through the nose to run it ...

I bought a display-model HP PSC 1317 from PCworld this week for £20.

Only the driver disk (and the box!!) was missing. Totally unused, not a mark on it and tapes still on ink cartridges!

Not the best one they do by far, but excellent for the kids and all for the price of 1 ink cartridge!!

    .......

Not sure how you got it for £59.99 !

I got a copy of the brochure you mention in today's Sun.
Yes the printer is advertised "at" £59.99 - usual in-store price £84.99

    SAVE £25*

But if you look carefully the "save" if qualified by the *

In the small print it says

    * WHEN BOUGHT WITH ANY PC OR LAPTOP

So if anyone else wants one of these and pops into PCWorld expecting to get one for £59.99, don't be surprised if they are in fact £84.99 or the saleman tries to sell you a PC or Laptop !

Regards the £19.99 - 3 years warranty - and the comments by others:

This £19.99 "3 years instant replacement" warranty is actually mentioned on the brochure specific to this printer !

I am going to get my money back on the warranty tomorrow and as for the printer I don't know why he gave it to me at that price because I did not buy anything else but I am not complaining.
