Complete new bathroom

I went for a design and quote today for a new bathroom. It's to include fitting, new suite and tiling etc. £5000:eek:


My bathroom only measures 270cm by 166.5cm and my OH wants to move everything about to get a shower cubicle in as it's the only bathroom in the house.

we replaced an old bathroom about 3 years ago. Removed old suite and tiling ourselves (took about 2 hours). Replastered most of the walls(someone else), fitted new suite(someone else) bought from bathroom place, tiled, laid carpet and painted ourselves.

Costliest bits probably buying the new suite £450 (bath, sink, toilets + taps etc.)
Plastering £200
Carpet £50
Tiles £50
Plumber £200

Heard on radio tonight either B&Q or Homebase have 20% off everything this weekend and 20% off bathrooms. Sorry it's bit vague was not paying too much attention to advert, so possibly 40% off bathrooms this weekend

sounds like a lot of money to renovate a bathroom. Have you gotten a breakdown of the quote? It might be cheaper to buy the items separately and pay someone to fit everything - they can probably even double check that you are ordering the right things, and check that the bath and toilet includes the waste pipe etc...
