Do you know anyone who is going to Italy any time soon? Or do you have a large Italian community near you? Seriously, my last lot came from a market in Italy. They've now run out.......... good job that I'm going back there on my honeymoon in August!Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0

To be honest dried porcini are expensive in most places, even in Italy (relative to the cost of other groceries there at least). However you don't need many to make a dish special. I got the ones I am using now in Italy last winter, but have also had the Merchant Gourmet ones in the past (I found some reduced in Sainsburied once so stocked up, but have never seen them reduced since). They are something I would tend to splash out on though.0

I buy mine from Juillian Graves, along with lentils and herbs and peppercorns as they are relatively cheap.
