hi everyone my partner has just had a baby and i have recently broke my ankle i had my plaster off a month ago and found i gained half a stone so me and my other half started to diet on the wieght watchers programme.
so its been two weeks since we started however where not going to the meeting we have a old book of my other half mother she herself lost 47lb so to save a bit of money we used her old stuff! moneysaving get in
so this morning after two weeks we weighed in my other have has lost a repsectable 6lb and me a whooping 11lb  this is great but we find that buying all the weight watcher products it works out quite expensive over the week for both of us
so what im asking does anyone have and advice on how to stick with this diet if we start to struggle and any recipes with point values many thanks for all replies unless its a negitive one!
also im not sure if this is in the right topic so if not could someone please move it where it would be suited many thanks :T

why are you buying the products?
Just count the points of food, any food, and your still doing the weight watchers plan.
There is also a weight watchers support thread on the health and beauty board, also the actuall weight watchers website has a forum and recipie swap section.
What did you eat before starting weight watchers, maybe you could swap some things out to lower the points???0 -
yes we are buying some of the other product but alot of the wieght watchers products are less point so you maximise you piont values if we find the same product with a less points value and cheaper we replace the WW product but we like home cooking thats why i asked for recipes we dont like the ready meals optionyou cant change yesterdaybut you can make tomorrow better0
-
that was what I meant, what food do you like to eat home made?
Just point the ingredients0 -
I did the Core plan with WW couple of years ago and got to Gold, still maintaining. I get all my recipes off combination of WW site (you don't even have to be a member to get the recipes), the Rosemary Conley site, Slimmers World etc, just google and you'll get there.
I wouldn't have any of the WW ready meals if you paid me, they're full of junk, only qualify for healthy eating by virtue of the low fat, the rest of the contents are rubbish!0 -
oh right yeah i see what you mean lolyou cant change yesterdaybut you can make tomorrow better0

agreed - ready meals are not really healthy eating.0

we tried a few there not that tasty and for the points you dont get that much either we love veg and thats all free so thats a good thing i could see it being hard if your a keen meat eater tooyou cant change yesterdaybut you can make tomorrow better0

I dont eat much veg but am a successfull weightwatcher.
Just make wise choices, chicken no skin, prawns, lean red meat, all weighed and pointed.0 -
Hi there, well done on your combined 17lb weight loss:T
I'd also say don't buy the products -expensive and not actual food-just look at the ingredients:eek:
If you have a list of points values in your WWs book you should be able to keep a tally of what you're eating.
WWs likes to reinvent itself every couple of years. This is good for money-saving dieters because all the old cookery books become available cheaply second hand. I've just had a look at Amazon and there are loads of WWs recipe books from when they were in their 'Pure Points' incarnation.
Two of the best are Pure Points Cookbook by Sue Ashworth and Pure Points Two by Becky Johnson These are both fairly substantial books and include menu ideas for different occasions as well as lots of appetising recipes.
Other good ones that can be had for a few pence (plus £2.75 p&p) are;
Low Point Family Meals by Cas Clarke
Food in a Flash by Roz Denny
Spice Up Your Life by Cas Clarke
Classic Recipes by Sue Ashworth
35 Years of Weight Watchers Favourites by Joy Skipper
The recipes in these books are all 'pointed' and are easy to make and use easy to find ingredients.0 -
thanks guysyou cant change yesterdaybut you can make tomorrow better0
