Post Office Savings Account

Hi all

We go br next month and our fees are sat in our Co-op cashminder account which we are now using as our main account, all direct debits etc are set up and up and running so we hope we can keep this.

However I would like to get the fees out of this account for the timebeing (just to help me keep track of my money better) and would just like to open a bog standard Post Office savings account and put the fees in there.

Would I therefore need to put this as an account on my br forms? Would be OR close it after my br? When all of this is over it would be nice to think I had a place where I could put aside a little bit here and there which is aside from my main bank account.

thanks in advance

Rach

The account would need to be declared on the forms.

The OR may or may not want the account closed, but even if they don't mind they would have to write to the Post Office who could well close it despite that.

Companies tend to be reluctant to let you have or keep a savings account while BR.

  • You could open a second cashminder account with the co-op. I have two. One for wages,dd's and general day to day living and one account for payments to moonbeever.
Might be worth a try, although I opened the second account after i became bankrupt.
