The New World Order must be really p*ssed with Obama. The 'captains of the New World Order' put him in place to 'con the American people in to accepting global slavery' and one of the first things he does is try to put in a free, socialist-esq healthcare system for the poor.

I don't fancy his chances at the next New World Order quarterly board meeting at the Holiday Inn, or wherever it is this shady group meet.

The Nobel Committee have a long tradition of awarding the Peace Prize to endorse the ideas and ideals of individuals.

I, for one, am looking forward to Obamas acceptance speech in Stockholm. He is possibly the greatest living orator and he will be able to expand on his hopes for respectful co-existance and peace with Islam.

He will be talking to the world and, make no mistake, the world will be listening.

This is one of the most ignorant and stupid things I have ever read. Almost immediately upon taking office, Barack Obama appointed George Mitchell - the veteran negotiator (in Northern Ireland and elsewhere) - as his Middle East envoy. To replace Tony Blair, who was George Bush's Middle East envoy. Mitchell achieved more in his first two weeks than Blair did in three years.

Next up: Obama, unlike Bush, takes seriously the scientific case for global warming. Given the amount of pollution that America generates, with the low petrol prices, we will all be grateful for that.

In eight months you have done an about face and taken this country in a much more sane direction.

So, do the posters on this thread think that putting a stop to torture is not important enough to help justify the award of the Nobel Peace Prize?

If you really kept up with current affairs, you would know what he has done. And all against a constant background noise of Republicans who cannot accept a black President. You know, those people so eaten up with hatred that they spend their entire lives trying to prove that he is not American, or that he is Muslim (he isn't).

Michael Moore has posted congratulations on his web site, adding that if Obama found a cure for cancer this afternoon the Republicans would be denouncing him for destroying free enterprise because cancer centres would have to close.

There are those who say you've done nothing yet to deserve this award. As far as I'm concerned, the very fact that you've offered to walk into the minefield of hate and try to undo the irreparable damage the last president did is not only appreciated by me and millions of others, it is also an act of true bravery.
