edited 9 October 2009 at 8:52AM in It's gone, but was it any good?
My local Woolies has now become a Poundmart store (think this may just be in Scotland) went in to get some pencils and stuff for DS, and I also bought some jar candles from there, was a bit dubious with it being a pound shop as to wether they would be any good or not, but they are devine!!! they are in exactly the same kind of jars as the Yankee candles (small ones) these are what I normally buy and there is no difference, about 10 different fragrances including French Vanilla, Cherry, Fresh linen etc (may even be small stocking filler prezzie for Christmas)
for £1 each, amazing value:j

ooh cheers for that! we have one in our old woolies and it was one of the first shops i checked out in this area (just moved here on the 1st) and i saw those candles, so next time i go i shall have to pick some up for the christmas hampers i'm making and maybe a few for me!

i also noticed they have some really nice gloves i plan to pick up next time, they also had a LOT of big name items including a small open fridge case by the door with meal deal type items including fresh sandwiches! my daughter loves the pick and mix and you get a decent amount if you carefully pack the cups ;)

i'll def be popping in everytime i go into town they just had soooo much quality stuff and are set up a lot nicer than a fair few pound shops i've seen, all bright and airy, plenty of rooms to get through the aisles etc not dank musty smelling and dark :T

ooh the thought occured to me that once the candles are used up the jars could be washed very well (i'd probably soak them in a bleach/water solution then wash in very hot soapy water) they could be used for spices etc as they are absolutely gorgeous jars

A few have opened in England called Waremart, probably the same company. A bit like the poundshop but obviously not everything is a pound, still some relly good bargains in there though! The one in Middlesbrough where Woolies used to be is huge,
