Returns to John Lewis

Hi, I have bought items from John Lewis but they are clothes from Hobbs. I dont have the receipt and want to return them. Will they take them back and exchange them? The reason I am asking is there is an actual Hobbs store and they may say that I cant prove where I bought them from.
Will the label have a barcode unique to John Lewis?

a bank statement with the exact amount may be enough, if paid on card. best thing is to go in honestly and see what they say.
i recently returned a damaged item without a receipt as it was a gift, tho they did initially want the receiptTarget Savings by end 2009: 20,000
current savings: 20,500 (target hit yippee!)
Debts: 8000 (student loan so doesnt count)
new target savings by Feb 2010: 30,0000
