There has been a thread running about an intermittent problem some people have had with their Panny's. This has left me wondering about the long term reliability of them as I am now on my second in (I think) less than 2 and a half years.
I also note that Lakeland have dropped them in favour of the Kenwood.
I really love my BM but I'd like a bit of feedback from others please as to how long their's is lasting.
Other brands feel free to join in - especially if you've got a real antique!

I don't know how old my Panasonic breadmaker is. I only bought it about 4 weeks ago from a carboot sale for £4! Bargain. It's the SD-251 and it works fine. Made Onion bread in it yesterday, and it has come out perfect.0

That's a bargain!
Well the newest models are the SD-255 so yours must be quite old but as you don't know it's history it may only have been used half a dozen times (lucky you!).0 -
I'm pleased. My old Kenwood started erroring out during the cycle and couldn't be restarted. The Panasonic looked hardly used. It even had the book with it.0

Got mine as a wedding present 5 and a half years ago, maybe use it 4 times a month only though.Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.

I reckon I use mine 6 times a week, sometimes 7. So perhaps my question shouldn't have been "Who has the oldest?" but "Who has used it the most/longest?"0 -
I`ve had mine about 12 months and it has been used at least once a day for bread ever since.
It does get used a couple of times a week for things like pizza dough and dough for breadcakes or different flavoured bread.
I`ve had 5 bricks out of it since purchasing but 2 of those are down to DH filling it and putting it on the timer with the yeast in the water .
I love mine.
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0 -
I have a SD 254, about 4 years old. It is used 3 - 4 times a week and is still going strong. I have only ever heard good things about the Panasonic breadmakers. One life - your life - live it!0

I got my SD253 3 years ago off e bay.I've used it practically every day since either ordinary loaf or italian breads.Every loaf has come out perfect and the smell from freshly baking bread is to die for.Viva le Panny!"Sometimes life sucks....but the alternative is unacceptable."0

March 2006. No problems as long as I use decent yeast although I do find the seed dispenser doesn't always open if I am doing seeded breadIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0
