Yeh... tell them you were on hol when the bill came through and you've just got back saw the bill and rang straight away.. devious and bending the the truth I know but hey if it saves ya £15 then it'll count as a little 'white lie'.

You gotta be convicing and point out £20 item.... £15 charge (cause you would have paid it if you had been around). Be sure of dates on bill and dates of 'holiday' abroad ;)

    Worked for me ;):)

Ask them for a breakdown of costs on the service charge as far as I am aware it is illegal for them to make a punitive charge and must be able to justify any amount levied and demonstrate fair cost, the bank charge thread would be an ideal place to seek advice on this matter.

Shame they aren't offering the discount on the sale items too.

When ever I miss a payment they only ever charge me double the next month!!
  • I miss payments all the time and I have never been charged extra.
You must have a more recent account.

I would look at your terms and conditions.
I would go with the I didn't know about this charge and I didn't receive a statement last month or I would have paid.
