im struggling to find any craft or christmas fairs that dont cost £100 for a stall, none of the schools round here seem to want to talk to me wich is gutting to say the least, making all my stock up in the vain hope ill find something and figuring the more i have the better hopefully

Hi, I used to do several craft stalls about 7 or 8 years ago, but got busy with caring for my sons and had to give it up. Now they are adults and in residential care, at least during term time, I'm trying to set up a small craft business selling gifts.

I decided to start with christmas craft fairs locally. My friend showed me how to do a blogpage on blogspot and I did a page showing several of the items I would sell on my stall e.g. pints of socks, baby sock cupcakes etc. Then I researched email addresses of local schools on google and emailed them with a link to the blogpage - I have had several offers of stalls for £10 each.

Could someone tell me what they sell pints of socks for? Several people I know have said "they are good" but not actually want to buy them. I thought £3.50 would be ok (they cost about £1.50 to make). I'd be grateful to know how other people work out their prices. I used to do cakes and sweets and I worked out the ingredients and added £6 an hour for time, and divided the cost between the items, but the crafts are done over a bit 'here and there' and this method isn't easy to work.

I've found a charity christmas fair looking for stallholders which looks ideal, however the website says 'All proceeds to go to xxx', does this mean all the money you make from your stall goes to the charity or just the money from hiring the tables/refreshments etc? I can't imagine they'd ask for all of your takings would they? I'd feel a bit cheeky ringing them up and asking them but I'd be looking to make some profit from a stall too
D'you know, in 900 years of space and time, I've never met anyone who wasn't important

I work in a surgery and one of the partners knew about the hospice market and brought it to my attention, so I emailed them and asked about it and what was entailed.
