Not very good quality for the price

Found this review in The Guardian.
    Medion's MD20099 TV

A 32-inch LCD set used to cost way over £1,000, but German company Medion is now selling the MD20099 for £600. So with Sky's HD launch just weeks away, should you be tempted? The 1366 x 768 pixel MD20099 is a bit of a mixed bag. It certainly looks striking and can be housed either on its own stand or attached to a wall. It also has plenty of features, including picture in picture so you watch two video sources simultaneously. Sadly there's no digital TV tuner. Picture quality from HD sources via a PC and from Telewest's cable (it links via a HDMI cable) box was good, with reasonable detail and rich colours. Where the set's image is compromised is with fast-moving images where there are clear signs of lag. If you are going HD and want a set on the cheap, it is worth considering. However, it is no match for the latest LCD TVs from the likes of Philips and Sony

Best to stick to the leading high street brand names to avoid disappointment.

With LCD TV's you really need to view before purchase. look for ghosting on fast objects and poor colour contrast. Blacks should appear black, not grey.

You would be much better off buying the new Samsung slimline 32" CRT HDTV from Comet for £450 WS32Z409TQ

A CRT will always have a better picture than a cheap LCD TV

    Dimensions 56.8x93.4x39.9(H/W/D)cm

I would strongly recommend that anyone considering this TV reads the avforums.com . This set is getting very poor feedback.

why not i think youll find its much easier with thier 12 month guarantee where they will replace or refund no questions asked, the hassle i had at currys with my lcd meant i will never shop there again, they had it for over 6 weeks and then couldnt fix it

But they sell, in the main, rubbish.

If you want to shell out your hard-earned in Woolies simply because you can take it back within twelve months then that's your privilege. However, if you want to buy the best piece of equipment for your budget at the best available price then I would bet that 99 times out of 100 you won't be going near the place.

Great for many things but expensive electronics.....

Interesting post. Looks strikingly similar to one I started on AVForums on the same day a little before this was posted... ;););)

If you want to see the feedback this is getting, why not check it out. The link for it can be found here and is getting regular feedback from some satisfied people after I first mentioned it...

And as for the comments about buying expensive stuff from Woolworths, I think you'll find that it's all relative. Woolworths is a shop, not a manufacturer, and you'll see rather a lot of electrical stuff in Lild etc. And you know what. People buy it. Because it is cheap (and maybe cheerful - that's an opinion you're more than welcome to have).

This TV isn't going to take over Sony, Hitachi, Toshiba, Panasonic, LG, Phillips or Samsung's crown as being one of the established brands. What people may like, is that you could pick up this TV, a Sky HD box, complete years subscription to the works with Sky, and STILL have change left over for the asking price of the new Sony Bravia V 32" .

Not everyone can afford top of the range branded stuff, and if you're after a cheaper alternative, it may be the one for you. "Best piece of equipment for your budget." Sums it all up. If your budget is £600 maybe it's not to be knocked.

    Enjoy all.

I don't know what forums some of you have been reading, but I've seen nothing but praise for this set. The Guardian 'Tech' review has been the only one with a bad thing to say. In my experience, 8ms refresh time doesn't result in lag.

I've ordered one, and I'll post my opinions when I receive it!
