Not heavily in debt, but still trying to sort things out.
    Baby due July 2018.
  • Just two things:

Firstly have a "no shoes inside the tent" rule - this will make sure you don't get mud, grass etc. all over your stuff. I usually put a plastic bag just inside the tent door and leave shoes there. (not v. romantic advice for a honeymoon - sorry!)

Secondly, a silk sleeping-bag liner is wonderful. Very light, insulating and luxurious (can use without sleeping bag if it's warm) - and they don't have to be expensive. Much nicer than the nylon lining of most sleeping bags. I love mine and it will go on every holiday with me now.

Hope you have a great time.

I got one at Morrisons a couple of weeks ago for £9.99. It was a single airbed with a pump built in to it. So far it's been brilliant.

Thanks I went in yesterday and got 2 single ones at £6.99 each. XX

I've been camping for about 25 years - am 33 now but camped with parents when little, and for the last 14 years with hubby. In between, have been involved in guiding for many years and have spent many nights under canvas.

Personally, when not having to have my "bedding roll" inspected by others (and I passed all the guiding badges concerned with a sleeping bag, two blankets and several nappy pins, a groundsheet and a length of rope, with flying colours might I add!!:A ), I recommend a blow up airbed, and taking sheets and a duvet;) . Maybe I am particularly lucky with my airbed (or particularly unlucky with my normal standard of bed!:p ), but I am as comfortable in my tent with my airbed and duvet as I am at home in my normal bed. I admit, its not a particularly space-efficient method because it takes up a fair amount of room in the car, but I get a great night's sleep!:T

(And the other guiders laugh at me, but I get the last laugh...!!!).:rotfl:
