Halifax Credit Card Nightmare

Hi,
I'm completely new to this, but I will try and explain the best I can my situation.
I have been with the CCCS for about three years now and I have to say they have been brilliant, and I'm not sure how I would have managed without them.
I have about a year left before I will be debt free, the only problem I have had through out this is from the Halifax. I have two credit cards with them which they are still charging interest on after sending several letters asking them to consider freezing the balances. Each time they refused and I still after all this time receive letters about late payments, even though I have explained over and over again that I can not change the date as it's CCCS who make the payment. They charge me £12 each time there is 'late' payment and with the interst added to this it means hardly any of my payment is clearing the balance, has anyone had a similar experience with the Halifax, I would be so grateful if anyone has any advice on this issue, thanks for listening

  • Hi Cheryl Halifax do have a bit of a reputation for this.

I know it is hard, but i would claim back every charge they have put on your account PLUS interest. I would also point out the agreements which others have accepted as well as the fact that you have followed the advice given to them re seeking help for your debt problems you are with a reputable charity and acting lawfully.
If you get the money back that should help.

  • thanks for that, I will give it a try, nothing would give me more satisfaction than telling them they owe me money for a change !
