Cannot get a refund because I've left positive feedback ..?

Hi all,

I won an ebay auction for an Adaptec RAID card for my PC last week, and it arrived on Thursday morning. I connected up two small 40GB hard drives to it, and everything seemed OK so I left positive feedback on Sunday night.

However, on Monday I connected some additional larger drives to it and found it doesn't work properly - random reboots, beeps from the card etc.

I have tried different machines, cables and disks but the problem remains with any disk over ~200GB (even though the manufacturer states that drives up to 1TB are supported).

There is clearly a fault with the card, but the seller rejected my refund claim because I have left positive feedback. Obviously I am kicking myself now for being so quick to leave feedback, but do I have a right to ask for a refund irrespective of the good feedback I left?

Thanks for any advice,
Matt

Paypal won't care about feedback you've left. Open a significantly not as described dispute. You'll have to send it back by a tracked method (ie RM recorded delivery) at your own expense, but you'll get all your money back (including any P+P you paid).

  • Raise a Paypal dispute. You will be required to send the item back tracked to which once received by the seller you will receive a refund.

its true paypal wont care about the feedback
i have been unfortunate to have this happen to me before
but they had obveiously changed there mind after a few weeks worth of use out of my item
IM NOT IMPLYING THATS WHAT YOU ARE DOING as if the item is not working then you should be entitled to a refund or replacement

i would contact the seller and say just that
that you would like a refund or replacement or you will have no other option than to open a paypal dispute

or do as another poster has said just open a paypal dispute so you can get your money back and buy an item that works as it should
