Yeah right. In what fantasy land do rates stay at record lows for another year? Do you think QE and low rates is affordable on a long term basis?

Erm Japan....I believe were at 0% for 5 yearsand they are still in the sh*t
If you find yourself in a fair fight, then you have failed to plan properly

I've only ever been wrong once! and that was when I thought I was wrong but I was right

Lesson 1: How to convince everyone you're stupid.;)
In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:

Not sure if you are implying I am stupid or Monkfish. Whatever.

Base rates still at .5% in 2011? Is that the prediction on here?

I mean it's great news obviously in the blinkered world of a tracker mortgage - but really.. .5% in a year still?

But the people in that blinkered world thin the economy will still stalling then.

Otherwise they would not think it would still be 0.5% (or very near)

So if we accept that the record low interest rates are because we are absolutely in the worst mess ever, then presumably the outlook is for more of the same. I never thought I would be a little more bullish than you lot.

Indeed, I think any growth will be marginal for a good year +.

A lot of debt, tax etc has to be paid back. That will slow growth thus meaning low rates.

Unless magical hyper inflation arrives and saves us all it is going to be a painfull few years for everyone.

    So back down Bull :).

I suspect some of you operate on the principle that whatever I say it must be wrong.
