Went to Argos to buy our rings and came home empty handed. We dont wear rings already so dont know our ring sizes.Argos doesnt have a ring sizer
.
So could I just go to any jewellery shop to find out the sizes and go back to Argos with that info. Are all rings sized to a universal standard so if we get measured somewhere else would that be okay?Sorry for the probably stupid question but I have no clue about jewellery.

I've just ordered one (free) from Clogau as I need to get a wedding ring for my hubby....

It seems a bit lax of Argos not to have any.......TBH the rings I've had in the past from there seem to wear thin after a few years.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

Yep, just pop into any jewellery shop and get your fingers sized.
Can't believe Argos don't have a ring sizer when they sell rings!Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
Argos used to have ring sizers in store, I worked on Lizzie Duke for a few years!
Ring sizes are sometimes a little like clothing sizes, it depends on the shape, thickness and material, so sometimes people can hover between a couple of sizes. Our fingers also change shape due to factors such as body temperature too, so take into consideration if you're hot/cold.,___,

As previously mentioned ring sizes do alter. I have a few rings which are worn on same finger (i alternate them not wear all at same time) and they are all of different sizes one is as low as an n1/2 and the largest is a p so its better to try before you buy so to speak.:j Was married 2nd october 2009 to the most wonderful man possible:j

your size will also depend on the style of ring you pick
if you go for a court fit they tend to be a little smaller than a d shape ring (d shapes are flat on the inside while court are rounded on the inside)
court fit rings are more comfortable to wear imo
also as said above your size will vary with your body temperature
so when you are hot your fingers will swell up and when you are cold they will get smaller (sorry cant think of the right word lol)
i would suggest going into a jewellery shop so you can get sized using the right kind of rind sizer (court or d shape depending on the rings you have chosen)
and its a good idea to go a couple of times when you are quite hot and also when you are cold to see what fits well
bear in mind if your fingers change size a lot in the hot and cold then if you get something thats lose when you are hot it will fall off when you are cold.
A good idea is to get a size that is slightly tight when you are hot (so you have to wiggle it off your finger) this way it will be comfy most of the time, then a little tight when you are hot, and lose when you are cold but shouldnt fall off
hope that helps a bit
oh and argos def used to have ring sizers in store (i used to work there too lol) they are kept on the jewellery counter an assistant should help you with trying the different sizesMarried on 5th March 2010still lurking on the wedding board tho :rotfl:0
