I am almost always disappointed with Tesco beef, even their expensive Organic Beef tastes like leather . I have given up on Mr Ts beef.

I have opted for eating less meat and buying meat from local farm shops who source their meat locally. We had a lovely Lincolnshire Red Beef roast last week and it was second to none in taste and quality.

I have also given up buying beef from supermarkets after a bad experience with Asda. Having never complained before about anything, I stormed to their customer services with the remainder of my "sizzle steaks". It was tougher than my shoe leather!! I was given an apology and a refund, but that doesn't make up for the waste of the meal you have spent time producing.
I now shop at my local market, far better quality and similar prices.

Yeah Supermarket meat is very poor IMO, especially Asda - wouldn't ever buy any meat from there again. Saying that, I do like Sainsburys meats - up to now!

We bought some of the Tesco half price steak last weekend from the butcher counter and judging by the comments here we must've struck it lucky!
The steaks were delicious - we grilled ours and although perhaps not as much flavour as butcher steak they were very tender.

We like rare/medium steak maybe this made the difference?

I bought some of the rump from Morrisons last week for my 14 year old daughters cooking lesson at school. She brought home surprisingly tender strips of beef in her beef in black bean sauce.

Normally her cooking is inedible so I reakon the meat must be pretty good quality

I bought some ribeye steaks from Morrisons the other week and they tasted very nice, better than the 28 day matured Tesco's Finest that we had tonight.
