Self Assessment question

I have been working s/e for a few years and do my assessment on time etc.
I have just started doing more s/e work but in a different line of work. My question is, do I need to tell HMRC that it's different work or can I just submit my assessment next year having taken both employments into account?
Many thanks

If the new business is separate from and different to the original one, you will need to produce separate accounts and complete two self employment pages on the SA. No need to notify HMRC otherwise, unless you have a small earnings exemption for class 2 and the new business is taking you over the threshold.£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths :beer:0

Thanks Fengirl
Yes I do have an exemption cert but this other income won't take me over the threshold (sadly!)
I have different books for the 2 incomes so doing the SA won't be a problem.
One other question - as both these employments entail working from home, I am assuming that I can only claim back the broadband and phone etc for one of them? Even though they both get done at different times iyswim?0 -
Yes, you can only make one claim for overheads.£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths :beer:0
