Making a childs Egyptian costume (boy)

Hello,
I'm really sorry if this is in the wrong place, my guess was that seen as you're all so crafty (that doesn't sound so good), I mean arts and crafty... I thought that you might be able to help me with this. I must warn you, I'm asking for help on extremely short notice!
Ok, so here's what happened... This morning my partner dropped his son (6yo) off at the boys mother's house and she happened to mention in passing, "oh btw there was a letter in his bag yesterday saying that there's a school assembly on friday and because they've been learning about egyptians they've all to dress as egyptians for the assembly; but there's sure as hell no way I'm buying anything for it so he's just going in his uniform."
So other half tells her that we'll make something for him tomorrow and he can wear it on friday. (I've had to edit that down or we'd be here all night just getting the background of it, lol).
This is where you all come in.. I hope... I've got unlimited time tomorrow to go anywhere required for supplies etc and then to make the thing, if anyone has ANY ideas at all I'd be so so grateful :A
I was kind of thinking maybe an adult sized white t-shirt with the sleeves rolled up so it looks like there's rolls of material at the edge of his shoulders that I could maybe paint gold and then some kind of headgear and maybe a wee tassly thing round his waist? I know that's really vague but I'm just thinking off the top of my head here..
I hope someone can help.
Thanks in advance
xxxxxx

Thank you so much!! :T
I'd tried googling a few things but I just kept getting links to buy outfits. I love the first link that was posted with the templates on the site, that's fantastic! Thank you so much!
I'm also really grateful for the other links because they have given me a much better idea of what the costume should look like, unlike my rolled t-shirt and gold paint number :rotfl:
I'll let you know how I get on0 -
Good luck!!I am determined to lose weight!:kisses3:

You could make flail and crook things out of some offcuts of bamboo cane and the top hook of a metal coat hanger and some string or leather strips and beads from an old necklace. Spray them gold and wind a blue ribbon diagonally down the bamboo like this...
