Career Development Loan (Barclays)

Good evening all, this is my first thread on MSE.com and is out of frustration of the process of applying (and hopefully one day getting a decision on) my CDL from Barclays.
I graduated in May 2009 from a BSc, and have decided to go straight into an MSc at Loughborough University. I looked closely into how I would fund it, and it was obvious I would have to work, but also seemed wise to get a CDL, even if I didn't use it and just received interest on it if I banked it correctly
. Although I am working and earning a decent wedge, it seems the CDL loan may be needed more than I thought, but I am still waiting on a decision.
I applied to Barclays in June 2009, and received a letter from them around 3 weeks later saying that Internet Bank Statements are not acceptable. I went to my bank, got them to print out a series of ministatements and stamp them all with the bank details. 3 weeks later, get a letter again, not good enough, they need actual statements that get posted to you each month. I got Abbey to send me these and posted them off again, within a week. It is now early October, my course has started and I have been in the application process for around 3 or 4 months now and still don't have a decision. I have made around 10 phonecalls over the past month enquiring as to when I will get a decision, and am continually lied to (it will be made this week, phone us Monday, we will call you at the end of the week). What an absolute jobsworth organisation. I am coping financially, but could probably do with the CDL sooner rather than later for tution fees, but can't believe how long it takes to make a decision. They sent me back my statements nearly 8 weeks ago so they have obviously received them and they are ok, but still no decision....
