Student Loan repayment
I started my degree course in 09/1997 when I was aged 38.SLC tell me that the debt will be wiped when I reach the age of 60.
However the table on MSE seems to suggest that for loans taken out between 1990 and 1997 the 'write off' age is 50 if aged under 40.Does this mean under 40 now or under 40 at the start of one's course?
Apologies if I sound a bit 'thick' but my degree is in French and Spanish and mathematics was never my strong point!

Why do they bother charging us graduates in the first place. I have no idea. Scottish students do not get charge so why us English eh?
