Thermos flask rice pudding recipe?

Does anyone know how to make rice pudding in a thermos plask please? I'm sure it is possible, I have a hint of information rattling around in my brain about it, but now it's really starting to bug me. I can't help thinking it might be good for a packed lunch in winter, or to start off first thing in the morning and have ready for evening (to follow a slow-cooker meal).

I would caution against it. The Thermos wouldn't keep the rice pudding up to the safe food temperature over that length of time, giving nasty bacteria like salmonella the chance to have a field day.
But others may not be as cautiousI am the leading lady in the movie of my life

You can do porridge like this but I've never heard of doing rice pudding, which I think would need moe cooking than porridge does.0

I'm sure I've seen a haybox recipe for rice pudding somewhere - which is the very old version of a thermos - if you gave it a good boil and got it say, just over half cooked and then put it in the thermos it will keep cooking. I do this with savoury pasta dishes in food thermoses for picnics. If you cook it fully, it keeps cooking in the thermos and is far too soft. If you do it, leave a fair expansion room as the rice will continue to expand. I think I would do it in the morning for lunch rather than leaving it all day.0

Wonder if the thermos flask method would work for a Ground Rice Pudding - my kids adored that when they were growing up.
I used to make it by putting ground rice, sugar and dried milk (enough to make up a pint of milk) in a pan, slowly stir in a pint of water and then bring to the boil, stirring all the time. Then allow to simmer for a few minutes. Served with a teaspoon of favourite jam - it always went down well .
May try it for the dgk's to see if they like it.

If you want it to be ready for the evening then perhaps a second (cheap) slow cooker might be the answer? SC makes lovely rice pudding. Or you could make a casserole or whatever in it overnight, put that into the fridge to reheat when you got home, then cook the rice pudding in it during the day (or vice versa)0

Has anyone tried this yet? I am making a mental note to try it soon! I've cooked dal in a thermos yesterday successfully so this would make a super idea for the next experiment.:A Every moment is a gift. That's why we call it the present.!:A
